Microcement Floors Ireland – Seamless Floor Finish
No grout lines, no transitions, no compromise. Microcement flooring delivers the polished, seamless look of a designer space in any Irish home or commercial building.
Microcement Flooring in Ireland
Microcement flooring is the defining finish of contemporary Irish interiors. Open-plan living spaces, modern kitchens, hallways and bathrooms across Ireland are being transformed with microcement floors — eliminating grout lines, creating continuous surfaces and delivering a polished, hotel-quality aesthetic that sets a home apart.
Unlike polished concrete, which requires a structural pour, microcement flooring is a 2-3 mm coating applied directly to your existing floor. It can go over concrete, screed, tiles, timber subfloor and many other substrates — making it equally suitable for new builds and renovations. At just a fraction of the thickness of tiles, it adds almost no height to your floor level, which means no adjustments to door frames, skirting boards or transitions.
Cementec Ireland supplies factory-prepared microcement flooring products from Spain to contractors and homeowners across Ireland. Our flooring range includes products for both residential and heavy-duty commercial applications, with a choice of 22 standard colours and multiple sealant options.
Benefits of Microcement Floors
Completely Seamless
No grout lines, no joints, no transition strips between rooms. Microcement flows from room to room creating a continuous surface that makes spaces feel larger and more coherent.
UFH Compatible
Microcement is the ideal finish for underfloor heating. At 2-3 mm thickness it offers minimal thermal resistance, and the polymer content gives it the flexibility to handle daily heating cycles without cracking.
20+ Year Lifespan
Properly applied and maintained, a microcement floor can last 20-25 years in a residential setting. Commercial-grade versions are designed for high-traffic environments including hotels, restaurants and retail.
Thin 2-3 mm Overlay
At a fraction of the thickness of tiles, microcement adds almost no height to your floor. No door modifications, no skirting board adjustments, no floor level step changes between rooms.
Easy to Clean
A seamless surface with no grout lines is effortlessly easy to mop. Daily maintenance requires nothing more than a pH-neutral cleaner and a damp mop.
Can Overlay Existing Tiles
Microcement can go directly over sound existing floor tiles, avoiding the cost and disruption of removal. This makes it an outstanding choice for renovation projects.
Where Microcement Floors Work Best

Open-Plan Kitchen-Diner
Microcement flows seamlessly between kitchen and dining areas — no tile-to-floor transitions, no grout to stain with dropped food. The perfect base for modern open-plan living.

Hallway and Landing
Create a striking first impression. Microcement in a hallway sets the tone for the whole home and holds up to the daily foot traffic that quickly damages other finishes.

Bathroom and Wet Room
Sealed microcement is fully waterproof and perfect for bathroom floors. Combine with microcement walls for a full wet room transformation with no grout lines anywhere.

Restaurant and Hospitality
Microcement floors handle high foot traffic with ease and clean quickly. A favourite choice for Cork and Dublin restaurants seeking a design-forward floor that performs.

Hotel Lobby and Corridors
Hotel operators across Ireland choose microcement floors for their premium aesthetic and durability. Custom heavy-traffic sealants are available for commercial hospitality projects.
Stairs
Microcement on staircase treads and risers creates a dramatic, contemporary look with no visible fixings or seams. Suitable for timber or concrete stairs with appropriate preparation.
Floor Application Process
Assessment
Substrate flatness checked. High spots ground down, low spots filled. Moisture readings taken.
Priming
Specialist floor primer applied and allowed to cure fully before microcement coats begin.
Scratch Coat
First microcement coat applied with steel float. Provides structure and reinforcement.
Finish Coats
One or two finish coats applied to achieve final colour, texture and smoothness.
Sealing
Two coats of polyurethane sealant applied. Anti-slip additive included in all floor sealants.
Microcement vs Polished Concrete Floors
Both finishes deliver a similar industrial-luxe aesthetic, but they are very different products. See the full comparison on our comparison page.
